Locations

While I have spent the majority of my time at parks in Williamson County, there are at least a few areas in neighboring Burnet and Travis counties that I frequent as well such as Doeskin Ranch and Walnut Creek. While the public areas in Williamson county are nice, especially the area around Lake Georgetown, the majority of the county, especially the northern and eastern parts, do not have any public land and so these areas are not represented here. Occasionally I venture a bit farther afield, but those visits are usually much less frequent. Some of the counties immediately west of Williamson seem to have at least one public park of some kind, while unfortunately those to the east such as Milam do not, so the eastern counties are not represented at all.

Typical outings include hiking anywhere from about three to seven miles and sometimes I will break those into smaller pieces if I don't have time to do it all in one day.
